Asia-Pacific Center for Arbitration and Mediation, APCAM Academy, Lecture Series

APCAM, an international arbitration and mediation center established for the first time in the world jointly by 9 arbitration and mediation centers from Asia-Pacific countries, with centers available in India, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and Nepal celebrated their 2n/a birthday on the 13the August 2022. APCAM has also been recognized by the United Nations as an Observer in working groups related to both mediation and arbitration

At 2n/a anniversary celebration, APCAM also launched the APCAM Academy Lecture Series as a new skill model learning program, which highlights the important role of improving problem solving skills. problems, communication, increased emphasis on technology and innovation, innate technicalities, etc. It will be a free online academic conversation conducted monthly.

At the anniversary ceremony, the keynote address and launch of the lecture series was delivered by Mr. Justice Ravindra Bhat, Justice of the Supreme Court of India. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Anil Xavier, President of APCAM. Guest speakers included Mr. Justice Madan Lokur, former Justice, Supreme Court of India, Mr. Joao Ribero, former Head of UNCITRAL Asia-Pacific, The Hague, Mr. Phongthep Thepkanjana, former Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Justice, Thailand and Prof. Dr. Mieke Komar, SH, MCL, FCBArb, MCIArb, Former Justice, Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia. Mr. Fahmi Shahab, Secretary General of APCAM Indonesia presented the APCAM report. Congratulations were given by Dr Francis Law, Vice President, APCAM Hong Kong, Datuk Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari, Vice President, APCAM Malaysia, Ms Delcy Lagones de Anglim, Board Member, APCAM Australia and Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Chairman of Australia’s APCAM Accreditation Committee. The program was moderated by Ms. Iram Majid, Executive Director, APCAM of India. After the anniversary function, the first series of lectures was given by Mr. Anil Xavier on the theme “Case Management in International Mediation”. The ceremony brought together more than 150 participants from all over the world.
