The Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI) will organize the 45th Chennai Book Fair from February 16 to March 6.
The book fair will be held at the YMCA grounds in Nandanam, Chennai.
The State Government authorized the Book Fair following a representation by the Secretary of BAPASI to hold a book exhibition in a manner which was organized in 2020 strictly adhering to the appropriate Covid rules and regulations , according to a report published by The Hindu.
BAPASI said it would reduce the number of kiosks to 800 from 1,000.
More than 80% of the event infrastructure is ready. Work on the main pavilion, which spans 3 lakh square feet to accommodate 800 stalls, has been completed, along with that of the restrooms and the stage for the events that guests will attend.
The book fair was to be held from January 6 to 23 but was postponed due to the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
