SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, USA, May 18, 2022 / — The Art of Living Foundation announced today that its founder Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will launch the “I Stand for Peace” campaign in the Bay Area at the San Jose Civic on June 9, 2022 at 7 p.m. It’s part of a global peacebuilding movement that began at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva earlier this year and is coming to the San Francisco Bay Area next month. The event will bring together nearly 3,000 people in solidarity to bring the message of peace to every corner of their local community.

The #IStandForPeace campaign aims to re-emphasize the human values ​​of peace and harmony in a climate of mental health issues, social isolation and business uncertainty. To support this campaign, the Foundation’s Bay Area Chapter is hosting an evening of wisdom and meditation with Gurudev who is a leader in the field of wellness. Bay Area residents can join this global movement in an evening of wisdom, meditation and collective action.

Gurudev’s 2022 US tour began in Miami where he addressed a conference of doctors on the role of meditation for mental health and general well-being. He continued to Boston where he shared his thoughts on de-stigmatizing mental health at Harvard University. This was followed by a dialogue with healthcare providers and administrators on prioritizing the well-being of healthcare workers hosted by the Children’s National Hospital and the National Geographic Society. He then spoke about the youth mental health crisis with the US Surgeon General at George Washington University. Before arriving in Delaware, Gurudev launched the “I Stand for Peace” campaign in Washington, DC on May 6. He also launched the initiative in Philadelphia on May 8, pledging Philadelphia to be a “city of peace” and rolling out programs to build mental health, resilience and indicators of general well-being within of our community. Both events brought together more than 2,000 people.
