Happenings: Book Events Starring Mary Alice Monroe and Angela May | Features

Local authors Mary Alice Monroe and Angela May will see their young adult novel “Search for Treasure” in bookstores on June 14. The $17.99 novel, published by Aladdin Books, is a sequel to their mid-level debut novel, “The Islanders.” ”

The authors will make several public appearances to promote the launch of “Search for Treasure”.

— 2 p.m. June 12: Timrod Library, 217 Central Ave., Summerville. Book discussion and dedication.

— 6:30 p.m. June 13: SC Aquarium, 100 Aquarium Wharf, Charleston. Official book launch party. The ticket price includes admission to the aquarium, food and drink, wine and beer, a treasure hunt for children, a raffle and a signed hardcover. Homeschool educators and parents will receive an Educational Treasure Pack with resources related to the series.

— Noon June 14: Barnes & Noble, 1716 Towne Center Way, Mount Pleasant. Book signing.

— 3:30 p.m. June 14: Kiawah Island. Autograph session and shopping. Call 843-768-4004 for details.

— 3 p.m. June 24: Wonder Works, 624 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant. Book signing.

– 10:00 a.m. on June 25. Bees Ferry West Ashley Library, 3035 Sanders Road. Book discussion and dedication.

— 3:30 pm June 29: conference and book signing by Daniel Island for the benefit of the Reading Partners association. Registration details to come.

— 3:30 p.m. June: Wild Dunes Resort, Isle of Palms. Discussion and book signing, scavenger hunt, bouncy house and other activities at the resort’s swim center. Registration details to come.
