Midland Halloween Festivals, Davidson Lecture Series in the Community Roundup

Midland College Davidson’s Distinguished Lecture Series hosts “Lessons from the Edge” by Marie Yovanovitch, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center.

The event is free, thanks to a generous endowment given to Midland College by the Davidson Family Charitable Foundation. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets are not required for general admission seating. Friends of the Series and Distinguished Midland College Donors can contact the Midland College Foundation at 432-685-4526 for tickets to preferential seating.

Yovanovitch is a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a nonresident fellow at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University. Previously, she served as United States Ambassador to Ukraine (2016-19), the Republic of Armenia (2008-11), and the Kyrgyz Republic (2005-08).

Aviation Maintenance Technology Program Open House

Midland College will host an Aviation Maintenance Technology Program Open House at its Aviation Maintenance Technology facility on Friday at Midland International Airport Hanger E. 2405 Windecker St.

During the event, one-on-one interviews with college officials, program staff, and advisory committee members will be available between 10 a.m. and noon. www.midland.edu/aviation-info
