Prendergast Library to Host 18th Annual Murray L. Bob Lecture | News, Sports, Jobs
The 2022 Murray L. Bob Lecture will be held at the James Prendergast Library from 6-8 p.m. on December 1.
The annual lecture honors Murray L Bob, former director of the Prendergast Library and the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System. Lisa French, co-founder and executive director of the Field and Fork Network, will give this year’s presentation, titled “Food insecurity: a public health problem. The Field and Fork Network, a New York-based nonprofit, connects communities to innovative solutions that promote a sustainable food system.
French will discuss food insecurity in New York State and the various solutions his organization and others are seeking to address the problem. Linnea Haskins, Jamestown Public Market Manager, will join French, who will speak briefly about the impact Field and Fork programs, such as Double Up Food Bucks, have had on the Jamestown community. There will be a reception following the presentation.
