PSU Hosts ‘Distinguished Business Conference Series’

The Asia-Pacific University (APU) Department of Business Administration hosted a “Distinguished Business Lecture Series” at the university’s auditorium.

Kamal Quadir, Founder and CEO of bKash Ltd, and Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam (ret), Director of External and General Affairs of bKash Ltd, addressed the session as distinguished speakers on Wednesday, a statement said. Press.

In his talk on “Technology and Financial Inclusion – the Case of bKash”, Kamal Quadir explained how bKash became a family brand and a leader in the mobile financial services (MFS) industry in Bangladesh.

It also shed light on the socio-economic impact created by bKash while including a large number of unbanked populations previously deprived of these financial services.

Furthermore, Mr. Quadir advised the students not to be afraid to pursue their goals.

His speech was followed by another on “the importance of regulation for mobile financial services” by Major General (Retired) Sheikh Md Monirul Islam.

His talk focused on the regulations and compliance issues that an MFS provider must comply with.

He explained in detail the measures taken by bKash to guarantee the interests of its customers and to combat the fight against money laundering (AML) and the financing of terrorism (CFT).

Their speech ended with an interactive question and answer session with the students.

The session started with a presentation of the two distinguished guests while Prof. MA Baqui Khalily, Dean of the School of Business at UAP, gave the welcome speech.

The event was also addressed by Dr M Alauddin, Chairman of the Board, and Prof Dr Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of PSU.
