Seventh Annual AtlAS Conference (hybrid format)

The Atlanta International Arbitration Society (AtlAS) and Emory University School of Law invite you to attend the Seventh Annual AtlAS Hybrid Conference on the evening of April 28, 2022.

Our guest speaker this year is Sternford Moyo, President of the International Bar Association (IBA), Chairman and Senior Partner of one of Zimbabwe’s oldest and largest law firms, Scanlen & Holderness. The conference will focus on “The Importance of International Dispute Settlement Mechanisms in International Trade Agreements”.

IBA President Moyo is the first IBA President of African descent and is widely regarded as one of Southern Africa’s leading business and commercial lawyers. Mr. Moyo has held many leadership positions at the IBA, including: Board Member, Board Member, Advisory Board Member and Chair of the Africa Regional Forum, Deputy Secretary General for Southern Africa, Co-Chair of the International Bar Association Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI), a trustee of entities established by the IBA, such as the Southern Africa Litigation Center and eyeWitness to Atrocities, and a member of the Working Group on illicit financial flows, poverty and human rights.
The program will include a welcome address from Emory Law School Dean Mary Anne Bobinski and a tribute to former Emory law student and AtlAS stalwart Bernard “Ben” Greer (Alston Bird LLP, retired). The conference will take place on Emory’s beautiful campus. The reception begins at 4:45 p.m. in the Hunter Atrium and the program begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Tull Auditorium at the Law School.
