University vice-chancellor writes book on ninth Sikh master, Guru Teg Bahadur: The Tribune India

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGNDPSOU) today released a book, “Teg Bahadur Dharam Dhuj”, written by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Karamjeet Singh. The book is about the life and story of the ninth guru, Guru Teg Bahadur.

The officials said the content of the book presents different phases of the Guru’s life journey inside and outside present-day Punjab with details of historical gurdwaras and relevance of places visited with mission on specific occasions.

Padam Shri Dr. Surjit Pattar, who was the chief guest on the occasion, dwelt on the structure and design of the guru’s journeys highlighted in the book, associating martyrdom as lessons for future generations.

Sarabjinder Singh, professor and dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Religious Studies at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, said the book offered a new perspective to new generations who are moving towards globalization through Sikh theology.

Dr. Karamjeet Singh shared his experience authoring the book.
